Authentic stuffed cabbage rolls filled with savory meat and rice.
Ingredients

- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the core from the cabbage and boil the whole head for about 5 minutes until leaves are soft.
- In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until soft.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, cooked rice, sautéed onion, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Carefully peel off cabbage leaves. Place about 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture on each leaf.
- Roll the leaf tightly and tuck in the ends.
- Place rolled cabbage in a baking dish seam side down.
- Pour tomato sauce over the rolls and drizzle with lemon juice.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
- Brown rice can replace white rice for more fiber.
- For a vegetarian version, use lentils and mushrooms.
