Delicious banana donuts topped with a rich salted caramel glaze.

- 2 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture. Stir until just combined.
- Grease a donut pan and fill each mold about 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the donuts cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- For the glaze, in a saucepan, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, and sea salt. Cook over medium heat until it thickens.
- Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and let them set on the wire rack.
Notes
- You can substitute melted coconut oil for butter.
- Use almond milk instead of heavy cream for a lighter glaze.
- Gluten-free flour can replace all-purpose flour.
