Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Add sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture. Stir until just combined.
  6. Grease a donut pan and fill each mold about 2/3 full with batter.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the donuts cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  9. For the glaze, in a saucepan, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, and sea salt. Cook over medium heat until it thickens.
  10. Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and let them set on the wire rack.

Notes

  • You can substitute melted coconut oil for butter.
  • Use almond milk instead of heavy cream for a lighter glaze.
