  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add milk, butter, eggs, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. For the custard, heat milk in a saucepan until warm.
  9. In another bowl, whisk eggs and sugar, then add warm milk slowly.
  10. Return to the saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened.
  11. Cool the custard before spreading it on the cake.
  12. Melt chocolate chips and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl.
  13. Stir until smooth, then let it cool slightly.
  14. Pour chocolate over the custard layer and spread evenly.
  15. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
