- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, and water. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly. Boil for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon.
- Pour the toffee mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Spread evenly and let it cool for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Wait a few minutes for them to melt.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.
- If using, sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the chocolate.
- Let it cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
