Delicious homemade cinnamon buns made with active dry yeast.
Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
- 1 egg
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Add melted butter, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread butter and sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar on top.
- Add raisins if desired, then roll the dough tightly into a log.
- Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Use almond milk for a dairy-free option.
- Replace regular sugar with coconut sugar for a healthier choice.
- For a lower-calorie option, use less sugar in the filling.
