  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. In a pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil.
  7. Shape the dough into pretzels and dip each one in the boiling water for 30 seconds.
  8. Place pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush with melted butter and mix sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle on top.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
