Ingredients

- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Remove the core from the cabbage and carefully peel off 12 large leaves.
- Blanch the leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until softened, then drain.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, cooked rice, onion, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and lemon juice.
- Place a generous spoonful of the meat mixture on each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in the ends.
- Place the rolls seam-side down in a baking dish.
- Pour tomato sauce over the rolls.
- Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, use lentils instead of meat.
- Substitute brown rice or quinoa for a healthier grain.
- Adjust seasonings to your taste.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
