- 8 oz pasta of your choice
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1 tsp thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and cook until they turn golden brown, about 20 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth and add thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 10 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir well.
- Sprinkle the grated Gruyère cheese on top and cover until melted.
- Serve warm and enjoy your meal.
Notes
- You can substitute the beef broth with vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
- Try using different types of cheese like mozzarella or cheddar if Gruyère is not available.
- Add cooked chicken or mushrooms for extra protein and flavor.
