- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic.
- Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- In a baking dish, layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella and remaining Parmesan on top.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef for a lighter option.
- Use gluten-free noodles if needed.
- Add vegetables like spinach or zucchini for extra nutrition.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
