Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced thin
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, sliced

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water. Combine rice and water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat. Cook for 15 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add sliced beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in soy sauce and brown sugar. Mix well.
  5. Add broccoli and bell pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve beef mixture over rice.
