Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the molasses, egg, and vanilla to the butter mixture. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until combined.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are firm.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
