Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla to the butter mixture. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

  • Substitute coconut oil for butter for a dairy-free option.
