Description

A comforting dish of minced beef tucumanas served with chimichurri sauce, perfect for sharing with family.


Ingredients

  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 large empanada dough discs
  • For chimichurri:
    • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/2 cup olive oil
    • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
    • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
    • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  3. Add minced beef, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  6. Place a spoonful of beef mixture on each dough disc.
  7. Fold and seal the edges with a fork.
  8. Place on a baking tray and bake for 25 minutes until golden.
  9. For chimichurri, mix all ingredients in a bowl.
  10. Serve tucumanas hot with chimichurri on the side.

  • Substitute minced turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Use gluten-free dough for dietary restrictions.
  • Chimichurri can be made ahead and stored in the fridge.
