Description

A simple and comforting tenderloin recipe that anyone can make at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs beef tenderloin
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the beef tenderloin dry with paper towels.
  3. Season the tenderloin with salt and pepper.
  4. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  5. Sear the tenderloin on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Add minced garlic and rosemary to the skillet.
  7. Pour beef broth into the skillet.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the oven and roast for 20-25 minutes for medium-rare.
  9. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes.
  10. Slice and serve with pan juices and a dollop of butter.

Notes

  • You can substitute olive oil with vegetable oil if preferred.
  • Use chicken broth instead of beef broth for a lighter flavor.
  • Fresh herbs can be replaced with dried herbs if needed.
  • Ensure the meat thermometer reads 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
