- 1.5 lbs beef tenderloin
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the beef tenderloin dry with paper towels.
- Season the tenderloin with salt and pepper.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Sear the tenderloin on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Add minced garlic and rosemary to the skillet.
- Pour beef broth into the skillet.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and roast for 20-25 minutes for medium-rare.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Slice and serve with pan juices and a dollop of butter.
Notes
- You can substitute olive oil with vegetable oil if preferred.
- Use chicken broth instead of beef broth for a lighter flavor.
- Fresh herbs can be replaced with dried herbs if needed.
- Ensure the meat thermometer reads 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
