- 6 large outer cabbage leaves
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1/2 pound ground meat (beef, turkey, or plant-based substitute)
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Sauté onions until they are soft.
- Add ground meat and cook until browned.
- Stir in cooked rice, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Place a spoonful of the mixture on each cabbage leaf.
- Roll the leaf around the filling, tucking in the sides.
- Place the rolls in a baking dish and cover with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes until heated through.
Notes
- You can use quinoa or lentils instead of rice for a different flavor.
- For a vegetarian option, use plant-based meat or skip the meat altogether.
- Add cheese on top for extra flavor if desired.
